Memory cards are most commonly used in digital cameras to store pictures. They can also be used in cell phones and MP3 players to expand the on-board storage, among many other uses. Newer computers ship with card readers built in, but older computers will need a memory card reader to transfer files with the card. For the computer to properly interact with the card reader, you may have to install a specific driver.
Step 1
Download the proper driver from the Sakar website (see Resources). Select your card reader and select “Download Driver.” Save the file to your desktop.
Step 2
Double-click the downloaded executable file (“cardreader.exe”) to launch the installer. Make sure the card reader is not connected to the computer before starting.
Step 3
Follow the onscreen instructions. If you are prompted to connect the card reader during installation, do so.

Restart the computer after the installation completes. Connect the card reader and your computer will now be able to access the memory card within the card reader and read/write to it.
