Below, you can download three complete DALF C1 sample papers. Even if the two firsts past exam papers are a little bit old, they correspond in every respect to the DALF C1 examinations. Indeed, the format, kind of tests and the assessed level are the same. Only the graphics evolved: the layout and the presentation of subjects were improved. So, the more recent subjects are better looking and more pleasant, in particular at the level of the images, than these two firsts DALF C1 sample papers. The SUFLE examination centre organises a DALF C1 (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) session every year.

ATTENTION the DALF C1 session, initially scheduled for May 2020, had to be cancelledDue to the health situation in France due to the coronavirus.

1. Description

The DALF, Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française, is an internationally recognized certification. It is an official diploma in French, issued by the French Ministry of Education, to certify French language skills at an advanced level (see the levels of the European Framework of Reference for Languages). It is valid for an unlimited period of time (for life).
It is intended for any foreign or French candidate from a non-French-speaking country (and not holding a diploma from French public secondary or higher education), aged over 16 years, who wishes to enhance their French language skills for personal or professional purposes.

The SUFLE is the examination centre approved by France Education International (ex CIEP) for the DALF for the Aix-Marseille Academy.
Our examination center only organizes sessions for the DALF level C1. For the other diploma levels, see the list of other France Education International approved centres.

The secretariat of the Examination Centre is located in Aix-en-Provence, on the Schuman site of Aix-Marseille University (Faculty of Arts, Letters, Languages and Human Sciences), where the exams are held.

2. Calendar 2019/2020 CANCELLATION

ATTENTION The DALF C1 session of May 2020 is cancelled.
Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus covid-19, the DALF C1 session originally scheduled for May had to be cancelled. We are not able to reschedule this session at this time. Thank you for your understanding.

The SUFLE examination centre organises a single session of the DALF C1 every year in May.

• Group events: Friday, May 15, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. - Room to be confirmed.
  Individual oral test: On individual invitation on 14 or 15 May (candidates will not be able to choose the date).

REGISTRATION :

• From 6 to 23 April 2020

Tariff : 130 €.

INFORMATION :
The group tests (written and oral comprehension and written expression) always take place in the morning.
The date and time of the individual oral test are subject to change. The individual invitations are posted on this site and in SUFLE at the latest the day before the collective tests.

3. How to register

Registrations are only possible on the dates indicated in the calendar (no early registration will be accepted).
Candidates must be over 16 years old (although it is advisable to be at least 17 years old, depending on the subject matter).

Documents to be transmitted to the secretariat of the examination centre :

• The registration form (available at the registration opening)
• A copy of your identity document
• The payment of the registration fees (see payment methods, available soon)).
  WARNING: Registration fees are not refundable.
• For registrations by mail only: enclose a stamped envelope with your address.
• Applicants who are minors (under 18 years of age) must also provide parental permission.

There are two possibilities for distance registration:

• Postal mail: it is compulsory to notify the examination centre in advance by e-mail (address on the registration form).
• Sending by e-mail: please provide the receipt (receipt) of the bank transfer. The registration documents will be sent back by e-mail, candidates will have to print them.

4. Results

Results are usually available 2 to 3 weeks after the tests. A certificate of success or a transcript (in case of failure) is then issued.
Diplomas are available about 2 months after the tests.

Results and diplomas must be picked up in person at the SUFLE examination centre secretariat. See details in the DALF C1 Results Information document.
For any request to send these documents, please contact the secretariat before the session.
If you would like someone else to collect your results or your diploma on your behalf, please give them power of attorney.

5. Preparing for the DALF C1
