Is there an easy way to revert back to High Sierra?
See How We Test Scanners. It's All in the Software. Fewer document scanners are Mac compatible, and some are only partially so. Most document scanners (with the exception of some high-end models. I still use a Nikon CoolScan 4000 scanner. Nikon's software, of course, is no longer supported by the latest Mac OS. I now use Vuescan by Hamrick Software to run my scanner. Go to the link for Vuescan. There is a tool to test to see if it will work with your scanner. In Paperless for Mac OS I can't seem to get my Neat scanner to work with Paperless in High Sierra or Mojave. Neat no longer supports their scanners or drivers but, in some cases, you can manually delete the old driver, install the new one and authenticate it and your copy of Paperless may work. Sort of. You basically have three choices at this point:
- Wait until Neat provides an updated scanner driver for macOS Mojave.
- Run a VM manager, like Parallels or VMware, to create and use a VM of High Sierra, when you want to use this scanner.
- Re-install macOS High Sierra. The following articles should provide you with the 'how-to' if you really want to go that route:
